About Mackenna
Mackenna Tolfa is a percussionist and composer whose career has taken her to over 20 countries and a wide range of stages around the world. Most recently, she performed with Blue Man Group at the iconic London Palladium Theatre as part of their World Tour, becoming the first female drummer to be featured in the show’s history. In addition to her work with Blue Man Group, Mackenna has held the drum chair for multiple Broadway national tours, including Mean Girls and The Book of Mormon.
Beyond her performance career, Mackenna is an active composer and arranger. She is currently involved in the development of a new musical, The Dust Bowl Radio Hour, which recently received its first staged reading and was featured in Playbill and BroadwayWorld in conjunction with the presentation.
Mackenna is a graduate of the University of Minnesota Twin Cities, where she earned her Bachelor’s degree in Music under the mentorship of Fernando Meza.
